Biblical Authority

Before we can determine what the Bible teaches about any subject, we must first answer a more basic question:

By what authority do we believe and practice the things we do?

Jesus claimed all authority in heaven and on earth. But how does He communicate that authority to His followers today? What does the New Testament actually teach about commands, examples, necessary conclusions, silence, and expedients? These studies are designed to answer those questions directly from Scripture before applying them to specific subjects such as worship, baptism, church organization, and Christian living.

Our goal is not to defend tradition or promote personal opinions. Our goal is to let Christ speak through His word and then follow wherever His teaching leads.

Each lesson builds on the one before it, so they are best read in order.
