Course Overview
The temple is one of the Bible's greatest themes.
Most people think first of Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem. But the story begins much earlier than that and ends much later.
Before there was a tabernacle...
Before there was a temple...
There was a garden.
From the beginning, God's desire has been to dwell with His people. The tabernacle, the temple, Jesus Christ, the church, and finally the new creation all reveal different stages of that one great purpose.
In this course we'll follow the temple theme from Genesis to Revelation and ask:
Why did God first dwell in a garden?
Why was the tabernacle built?
Why did Solomon build the temple?
What happened when God's glory departed?
Why did Jesus call His body the temple?
Why is the church called God's temple today?
Why does Revelation end without a temple?
Rather than studying each temple as an isolated subject, we'll see how each one points forward to something greater until God's purpose is finally complete.
